Walnut24 -- an annual Walnut Hills High School Association fundraiser benefitting Walnut Hills student activities and clubs - will be back for its third year on Sept 29th! The money raised here helps pay for club advisors, after school activities, coaches for all the Walnut Hills sports teams, class advisors, and marching band and theater directors, so this is a critical event.
The Walnut24 Committee has been meeting over the Spring and Summer and is looking for help as the two-month countdown approaches. Here are the areas where assistance on the Committee is needed please:
•food coordination
•prize donations
•volunteer coordination
•marketing
•set-up
We meet about once a month (for an hour) prior to school starting and then every week or two (for an hour) during the lead up to the event. Can you spare a few hours to help continue this new Walnut Hills tradition please? You won't be re-inventing the wheel as we have great notes from work done in past years and people on the Committee are ready to assist.
The Committee meets on Monday evenings, 7 pm at Panera in Hyde Park Plaza. Our next meeting dates are July 30, Aug 6, Aug 20, Aug 27, Sept 10, Sept 17, and Sept 24th. Walnut24 Design Contest
The Third Annual Walnut24 fundraiser is Saturday, Sept 29.
When the students get back in August, we want to start promoting immediately.
We have always held a contest and asked students to create a
design that will be used for posters, t-shirts and other branding for the
fundraising event. The student who submits the winning design will receive a
copy of the shirt and poster for their portfolio and a $50 prize.
You don’t have to be an artist. Submissions don’t have to be
elaborate. We have a graphic designer that will clean up any design idea
submitted to get it ready for print.
Criteria for designs:
- Can be submitted as a hardcopy or an electronic file (.jpg, .png or .eps formats)
- 12”x12” max size if hardcopy
- Two colors (shirt can be third color)
- Text on the design is optional
- Must be original work, not taken from the Internet
- Theme: Walnut24. 24 games in 12 hours. (note: we’ve dropped the “walkathon” as part of the name and gone with more of a ‘field day’ format for the event)
- Note: the event is not 24 hours long this year, it will run for 12 hours.

Hardcopies should
be mailed or dropped of at the school office. Electronic files should be emailed to 24@walnut24.com.
All submissions are due by Friday, Aug 17 at noon. Winner
will be notified by phone and/or email. Winning entry will be announced after
school resumes.
